“After Dark” was a pleasant, unexpected surprise for me! Probably because I wasn’t sure what to expect and I found it hard to enjoy any Murakami novel on the same level I did with “Kafka on the Shore”, “Dance Dance Dance” and “A Wild Sheep Chase”.
I still haven’t read DDD and Sheep Chase! I have to say, Kafka and Wind-Up Bird are my favourites of his stuff so far. I also read South of the Border, West of the Sun this week and it was good but I thought it felt a little…incomplete?
